Hello CJSH Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween weekend!
We have officially wrapped up the first quarter of the school year! Time is sure to fly by throughout the holiday months!
A few quick reminders:
Closed Campus Lunch- CJSH is a closed campus during lunch, meaning students should plan to either bring a lunch from home or eat school-provided lunch. While we cannot prevent students from leaving campus when excused by a parent or guardian, we strongly discourage this practice. Leaving campus often results in students returning late to class and disrupts our lunch routine. Thank you for helping us maintain a smooth, consistent lunch schedule and ensuring students are ready to learn when they return to class!
Academic Interventions- At CJSH, we want every student to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. To support this, some students will participate in additional math and/or English support during advisory. This is not a punishment, but an opportunity to strengthen specific skills, build confidence, and work toward grade-level expectations. Students will meet with a teacher twice a week during advisory and use their IXL Personalized Learning Plan to practice targeted skills at their own pace. Progress will be reviewed every three weeks to determine next steps, with the possibility of returning to regular advisory as students demonstrate growth. Families can support this progress by encouraging students to approach this opportunity with a positive attitude, give their best effort, and log in to IXL at home for additional practice. At CJSH, we are committed to ensuring every student is known, supported, and challenged. Together, we can help every student continue to grow and succeed!
Parent Drop-Off- We have seen an increase in families dropping students off in the horseshoe area in front of the school. To help keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently, please use the designated parent drop-off/pick-up lot located on the east side of the school entrance, rather than the horseshoe. The horseshoe is used by our school buses in the morning, and additional traffic in this area creates unnecessary congestion. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and running smoothly for everyone!
Thank you for your continued support. Please contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Stewart
